As we all look ahead to Christmas and new year, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who’s supported us in 2023 and reflect on the year just gone.
As ever, our men’s first team continued to over achieve, and, despite a difficult start, reached the play-off final.
The last few weeks of the season brought some of the finest performances and results in the club's history and will live long in the memory, I’m sure.
Carl and his coaching team have done a fantastic job, as have the lads on the field, and it’s a credit to the work they’ve all put in that we’ve had such a hard job retaining the squad from last season as clubs higher up the leagues show interest.
That brings me onto our women’s team who have also exceeded all expectations.
Under the guidance of Becki Davies and her coaching team, the girls came together to form our first ever women’s team, going on to remain unbeaten in the season and preparations are now well underway to continue their development in 2024.
Our wheelchair team enjoyed yet another successful year, picking up a number of trophies along the way, and I also want to congratulate Harry Jones on holding a successful testimonial year.
The North Wales Crusaders foundation has once again put the club on the map by achieving amazing successes across the North Wales region, engaging both young and old generations through their projects.
Whilst the above gives us great reason to celebrate, there’s also an acknowledgment that 2023 hasn’t been without its struggles, including the nomadic nature of our men’s league games due to the pitch renovations at Stadiwm CSM.
This has not only impacted the club in attendances last season, but it’s had a large impact on us financially and also impacted the awareness of the club in and around Colwyn Bay.
However, the Crusader ethos is not to dwell on the past, but to embrace the challenge ahead, and with an extended off field team, we’re looking to achieve some amazing things in 2024.
Our new membership scheme has been greatly received, and I encourage supporters new and old to take advantage of the fantastic benefits on offer for as little as £3 a week.
I’m delighted to welcome Josh back to club in the capacity of Commercial Manager, and we have some very exciting plans going forward to engage local partners and also the local communities, some of which are already coming to fruition.
Finally, I wish to thank you, the supporters, for your amazing support of the club.
The help the club has received through the Supporters Trust has been extremely helpful this year.
With the trust now ceasing to operate, the benefits previously on offer via trust membership are now included within our Crusader membership packages.
It’s also of note to us the significant contribution which the trust made across many areas of the club during its existence.
I’d like to once again encourage supporters to take advantage of our membership offering which can be purchased by clicking HERE.
All that is left for me to do now is wish you all the very best for Christmas and new year, and we look forward to seeing you all next season.
All the best,
Andy Moulsdale,
CEO,
North Wales Crusaders
