Jamie ElKaleh (ElkalehLLC) has confirmed the first stage of their plans to grow North Wales Crusaders with infrastructure changes to take effect upon the impending approval of the club’s takeover by the RFL.
Recognising the club’s need to grow our off field infrastructure, Josh Antoniou shall be appointed as the club’s General Manager to develop an oversight of all areas of the club and form a team below him which shall allow for the smoother running of all club operations.
Josh’s new role shall see him employed to develop areas such as better communication, marketing strategy, commercial offering, matchday experience and also work alongside the foundation to help drive our community focus.
Jamie ElKaleh, owner of Elkaleh LLC, said: “One of the first things which I wanted to do was appoint Josh into this position to give us a proper base to build our operations on.
“Whilst the club has run fantastically up to this point, I think it’s vital that as we develop we give everyone enough time and the correct resources to deliver on our goals.
“Having spoken with Josh at great length throughout and after the takeover negotiations, he’s someone who shares our vision for the club and who will now be able to work across the club the build a team capable of dealing with what’s to come and delivering our targets.
“This, for me, had to be the first step. It now allows us to push ahead and you’ll see further positive changes over the coming weeks.”
Andy Moulsdale, Crusaders CEO added: “Having worked with Josh for many years, and more closely since his return to the club this year, I have every faith that he will be able to progress the club from within position.
“It’s a credit not just to Josh but the wider board and volunteers that we’ve run the club with very little issues whilst all carrying out full-time jobs in addition to our roles here.
“However, we’ve always recognised that a key point to being able to run a smoother operation would be having someone to employed to manage the club working alongside the new owners and myself.
“This is a fantastic first step on our journey to developing on and off the field.”
Josh Antoniou added: "I think that what we've done with what we've had up to now has been nothing short of incredible, but as we look towards and exciting future, we know the areas which we need to improve on, and being given this position will provide both the time and resources to develop the club.
"We have a fantastic backing with a brilliant fanbase and loyal volunteers, when you see where we are now and think about where we can be by making the improvements which we know we need to, it's an incredibly exciting time for the club."
