Smith Extends Crusaders Stay

North Wales Crusaders are delighted to confirm the re-signing of 35-year-old Jono Smith who signs a new one-year-deal at the club until the end of the 2024 season.

As one of 'the originals', Jono started his career with North Wales Crusaders back in 2012, with stints at Rochdale Hornets and Barrow Raiders in between.

Famous for his fierce offload and his presence both on and off the field, Smith has clocked up 118 appearances collectively.

Smith is a fans favourite and commented: "I really enjoyed coming back to training at the back end of last year and being around lads again.

"I've not really had much luck with injuries and other things since I came back to the club, so I'm hoping I can just play as much as I can this season and enjoy every minute of it, in what will more than likely be my last season."

North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster said: "Jono is huge for the group.

"His experience is so valuable to the younger players, and he’s brilliant for us on and off the field.

"Hopefully this season he can have an injury free year and get more minutes on the field”.
