As the saying goes, a week is a long time in sport, so I thought now the perfect opportunity to update you on the first week under new ownership for the club.
First and foremost, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for the warm welcome to North Wales Crusaders which I have received.
Having watched a stream of the game against Workington, the passion and energy you all have for our club shone through, and I can't wait to get over to meet you all very soon.
On the field, I think that last weekend's victory was vital in our push for a play-off finish, and the coming weeks will really shape our season. As an owner, I'm not here to influence any on field calls, that's for Carl [Forster] and his coaching staff, but what I can do is give them and the squad everything they need to perform at their best level.
That's already started with an upgrade on our training facilities to now include 4G pitch, grass pitch and full gym facilities.
We've also advertised for a strength and conditioning coach with I know will help the squad massively going forward.
Staying with the first-team, recruitment has been a hot topic since I arrived, and I'm sure you've all heard various interviews where I've already stated that whilst we will, and have, improved areas of the squad, we still want to recruit smartly.
Meetings have also taken place with a view to next season, identifying targets and also retaining players from our current squad, they'll continue over the coming weeks and I look forward to sharing that news with you very soon.
Off the field planning is also well underway. This is a long-term project for me, and so I've sat down with Andy and Josh to look at all areas of the club and begin to form a picture of the short-term and long-term strategies we need to put in place.
These areas focus on communication, marketing and community, and I can't wait to continue to get stuck into implementing the developments in those areas which we need to.
Areas such as the launching of the Club Advisory Board shall only aid our progression and help unite all areas of the club.
In addition to the discussions which we're in already, the club is seeking new commercial partners with some exciting new packages available at what has never been a better time to join the club.
Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage supporters both new and old to come out and back the club at our next home game on Sunday 7th July, we have plenty planned for the day, and the men, women and juniors will all value your support!
I wish the lads all the best for Sunday as well as a safe journey to all our supporters making the long trip to the North East to cheer them on.
All the best,
Jamie
